Hi. I’m Michelle.

Michelle Samplin-Salgado is a visual designer, creative, health communicator, yogi, and scuba diver. As founder and owner of Red Sofa, she cares deeply and is passionate about the role of design to inspire change.

Michelle earned a Bachelors of Health Sciences from the University of Arizona and a Masters Degree in Public Health from the University of Hawai'i. She studied art and design at the Boston Museum of Fine Arts School, Harvard Extension and Summer Schools, the South Florida Art Center, and took loads of summer and after school art classes as a little girl growing up in Phoenix, Arizona. She was also a research fellow in Vietnam and a Peace Corps Volunteer in Ecuador.

Back in the day, Michelle had a very comfortable red sofa. When she was first starting out as a designer in Boston, she spent a lot of time on that sofa - creating materials and websites for yoga studios, non-profits,  public health organizations, and small businesses. After moving to Miami, she replaced the original sofa though the spirit (and the heart and soul) of red sofa lives on.
